Newcastle upon Tyne - Modern Formal Garden

This was an attractive symmetrical Victorian property in the centre of Newcastle, with the client wanted to develop the main front garden, as well as the smaller rear courtyard.

The design concept was to work with the Victorian formality but complement it with a modern interpretation of arts and crafts thinking: Romance, vibrancy, local and crafted quality workmanship.

The design reflected the symmetry of the property with a structured symmetrical front garden but planted with Getrude Jekyll inspired romantic hot planting in the sunny centre of the front garden. We used local quality materials and craftsmanship to

build the hard landscaping and features.  This included reclaimed York stone and decorative features using vertical laid tiles.

In the year courtyard a wonderful landscaper created this fabulous and unique fern leaf designed terrace using vertically laid tiles and pavers, surrounded by woodland plants (including ferns).
