“When we found our perfect house in Heaton there was one thing that was missing - a garden!
So we started looking for a garden designer, when we met Luke we clicked immediately, he totally understood our ethos of creative design, quirkiness and wanting to do some of the landscaping work ourselves. Luke also respected our limited budget and was keen to work with us on quirky ideas like the green bike storage and wabi-sabi elements.
We needed both the front and back garden to work very hard, as they are both quite small, so focusing on lots of key plants has made the gardens immersive and ever changing across the seasons.
Luke has created a relaxing haven for us - a Japanese woodland style courtyard with water feature on the North side and a more private front garden with a focus on flowers, wildlife and food which is always full of bees, birds and butterflies.
Both gardens have flourished over the past couple of years without being a huge amount of work and have given us endless amounts of joy, with plenty of compliments from friends and family.”

“We found Luke's website via a quick google search for local garden designers and quickly fell in love with Luke's designs and aesthetic. An initial chat established our most important requirements - namely an enclosed garden shielded from overlooking neighbours, dog-safe with non-toxic plants, and an interesting, engaging space we would enjoy spending time in.
Luke created two designs for our garden, which he then shared with us in a consultation. He advised us to go away and mark out the different designs in our garden to help us understand how they would feel. On doing this, we knew we much preferred one option over the other. We had further consultations around materials and in preparation of the technical drawings.
Although Luke's proposed design was over our budget, we loved it so much that we decided to complete the garden in 2 phases so that we could include everything and would not have to compromise on any of the design details. The planting process was quick and easy and Luke made sure to include some of our favourite plants and trees as well as give plenty of suggestions for other dog-friendly plants. We couldn't be happier with phase 1 - it has the aesthetic that we love and we can't wait to start phase 2 next year.”

“My dream was for a country wildlife garden at my new build house. I particularly wanted a pond, a seating area and lots of perennial plants which would attract butterflies and other insects – and I definitely didn’t want any lawn.
In the front garden I wanted a woodland vibe with shade loving plants. Luke was great! We talked through what I wanted and what plants I liked and didn’t like then he came back with 2 sets of plans for both the front and back gardens.
Once the plans were agreed he sent me a planting plan and we agreed colours and specific plants. The results is truly spectacular – it has been so exciting watching the garden develop over the last year. I’ve had colour from March onwards and the garden is full of all kinds of wildlife enjoying the plants and the pond.

Luke has done a brilliant job transforming our front and rear garden from a lifeless space fake grass into a beautiful garden where we can sit in private and enjoy the plants and nature.
He listened well to my requirements and came back and presented some clever and creative ideas, which included some lovely sketches to understand how the garden could look like. He provided us with two different layouts, which was helpful to weigh up the best solution for us.
He is a very helpful, enthusiastic and collaborative guy and professionally saw the project through to the end, organising a very good landscaping company, providing them the required technical drawings and following up with them while they built the garden. He also helped us with planting design and then coming with his great team to plant the plants once everything was built. The planting has brought us lots of pleasure!
