The client of this lawned and undeveloped garden wanted a contemporary and ‘welcoming’ design that enhanced the views of the woodland.
The design concept is ‘transitions’ of forms, textures and styles as you move through the garden. These transitions include: contemporary to rough stone,
clean minimalist planting to lush naturalistic woodland, contemporary to traditional,
manicured lawn to tall ornamentals,
formal to informal design.
The scheme transitions from a minimalist contemporary cantilever deck, a dining area to a lower level of naturalistic woodland. It includes basalt stone in various forms, tones and finishes, a Cortem steel water feature on two levels and grasses in various forms.
